AR15 H3 Buffer
Carbine length (3.25″) | Raw finish | ~5.15 oz complete
This isn't your average H3. This two-piece design uses a full solid-steel rear weight to dead-blow the bolt carrier, killing bolt bounce in full-auto and rapid-reset-trigger setups. The result is cleaner, more consistent function when you need it most.
The dead-blow action depends on a 1/16″–1/8″ gap between the head piece and the body. We set this gap at the factory, but it's fully adjustable if your build calls for it.
We've run these through a wide range of AR configurations — barrels as short as 7″ — and they perform flawlessly. Paired with a rapid-reset trigger, 5.1–5.2 oz is the sweet spot that really makes an FRT sing.
Why the steel weight matters
The sliding portion weighs 4.3 oz — the same as the tungsten weights in a conventional H3 — but it's machined from 8620 steel instead of tungsten, which significantly cuts manufacturing cost without giving up performance.
Be aware: there are other so-called "H3" buffers out there that don't disclose the weight of their sliding portion — and there's a reason for that. That sliding weight is far too light to actually prevent bolt bounce. Weight is the whole point.
⚠️ IMPORTANT — READ BEFORE ADJUSTING
You MUST loosen the small locking set screw on the side of the buffer body before turning the main head screw. Failure to do so can damage the buffer.
